WWEST seeks opportunties to ENGAGE youth and adults in STEM learning.
WWEST/iSTAND Youth Camps
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) camps for youth aged 5-12 are held each year during breaks from school, or as special events, to promote curiosity and engagement. Our camps provide a full day of STEM activities covering topics such as neuroscience, circuitry, coding and some principles of design and engineering! Visit istand.ok.ubc.ca for more information. After School/Outreach Programs

Indigenous STEM Mentorship Outreach
A joint project between iSTAND and Indigenous Program Services (IPS) at UBCO, the Indigenous STEM Mentorship Outreach program, provides Indigenous post-secondary students the opportunity to learn skills in becoming an outreach instructor and mentor in their home communities. Expansion to include students attending other post-secondary institutions in BC/Yukon, and potentially across Canada, is in progress. For registration as a post-secondary student with an interest in STEM and/or mentorship, a Band school, or post-secondary institution with an interest in this program, please contact us at wwest@ubc.ca for more information.
UBCO STEM Collaboration
Collaborative meetings between STEM related departments and outreach groups at UBCO, are held to build community, network, and support events occurring both on and off campus.
